There is something about this picture that makes the mood quite realistic I think, but I'm not sure what.

If you keep adding details, it sure will end up great.

The doorknob may be positioned a bit low on the door.

And rooms/appartments "usually" have listing to the floor and the ceiling.

Um, the small and thin wooden "boards" that hides the gaps between the floor/wall/ceiling.

Umm, I'm probably not looking in the right place, Undseth, but I've looked all over the room and not found any wood except for my desk and my bed frame. hehe.

Americans sometimes call it trim. If it's at a 45 degree angle, it's called crown molding. You might not have any in your room, but like Undseth said, they are basically long, painted boards that run from corner to corner on the floor and ceiling.
