Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Need Help: Weird Merging!

Hey Guys! user added image

School kept me busy lately
but i still found some time to do something new
So this is my secound hea in maya
the only difference is that i tried the box modeling technique.

but there's one problem, after finishing the head I wanted to merge the verts together..so i went to combine and all that stuff and went ahead...but as i start merging the verts they kinda push them self into an odd position like i posted it in the upper right corner of the attached file.

could someone help me out?

It's just because your using the smooth mesh preview, drop back to standard view and then they will look fine.

The SMP is petty good at finding problem with your mesh as any odd verts that look fine in the standard view get pushed right out in the smooth preview.
