Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Importing 3DS models into Maya

I saw that there was a plugin on Alias Wavefront's site for importing 3DSM models into Maya. I downloaded the file, and got:

3dsImport.lib

What am I supposed to do with this now?
Thanks for any insight.

OK. the file you download probably will not work. you must install the bonus tools. The 3ds imort for Maya 5 is in this plugin. you can get it at the Alias site. follow instruction in the zip for installation. After you have it installed startup Maya and go into your plugin manager and turn on the 3dsimport.
