Not able to mirror skin weights

Hi,

I'm trying to mirror smooth skin weights from my left arm to the right arm. So, I selected the vertices of my legt arm, then the vertices of my right arm and then I said mirror weights from +X to -X axis.

But nothing happened. Why??????? user added image

Hi nspiratn,

I don't know... are you using maya 5 or 4.5... in 4.5 it apperently isn't supported...

but somehow it doesn't always seem to work in Maya 5 eventhou it should be supported, just resently on a other forum someone had a similar problem... you should be able to mirror the skinweight by just clicking on the mesh and then hit the mirror function with the proper direction thou... user added image

hope this helps... user added image
