How CAn I avoid this:

I am trying to map a text on the orange , I used a black/white GIF file and I would like tomake the word "jaffa" have a relief but without seeing the frame too, I guess it has to do with the transparency of the white background - but I just cant get it right

HELP

I'm not sure but you could try to uncheck the Wrap U and W on the place2dtexture node...

that line you see is the border of your image map (the GIF) youll need to make sure that your gif background color is white..Completely white.... or that will happen

I've seen this sort of thing before... It has something to do with how Maya reads the textures. A little of the top of the image "runs over" onto the bottom of the image placement. At least, that what the situation was when this sort of thing happend to me.

You'd just need to adjust your image or the placement of it.

a frame can also appear if you disabled wrapping, but forgot to adjust the default color to black or white (depending what is on the background of the gif). can be found at color balance under attribute default color.

hope that helps
