Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Well I made a start today on some ruff stuff - and then started again as I hated it.

So I have collected a load of street images from the net and my new camera - thx mum (Christmas prezy)

I`m not working to any plan just going to build and build a street scene until I get the feel of a city. Starting off with a cafe I photographed back in Wales years ago and then add details from the photos I took in London today and some others I took from LA.

Still blocking in the back of the buildings but started on the detail of the walk way... oh and by the way I said stuff low poly for this one.

What I want is to make a background for a villain (so here`s hoping the next challenge is that one) to be causing havoc in. I dont want it to look to much like any city thats why I am using elements from all over the world.

Even if the next challenge is not the villain one it will be the next thing I make as I want to do a new character so I think this would work out perfect.

Right the cafe almost done for now. Need to add the text on the sign, the glass in the windows and some more detail on the pipes (as well as randomizing it up a little) but I`m ready to move on to the second building now, which is a much more office type space.

Going to give myself till March to model then to the dead line for lighting and texturing with more modelling if needed.

The garage still needs a lot of detail adding (tires, rail, windows, guttering ect.. ) but the office building is almost complete.

Other planned buildings so far

Mag Stand,
Hair dressers
Mc D`s
Cinema
Bus stop
Pelican Crossing
Subway entrance

edit - opps I left my test man in the shots

Man you can tell I`m snowed in with nuttin to do

Here`s the carpark

https://www.ravage3d.com/images/vcity/vc4_2.jpg

Shit this time I left the test cars in there.

Both the cars and the man are not part of the challenge they are only in there for a scene of scale. I say this because they are pre challenage made models and dont want to break the rules.

They will not be used in final verson

Edit :,

https://www.ravage3d.com/images/vcity/vc4_3.jpg

Started work on the road and the sports shop.
The central part of the road will have some trees in it - just not ready to work on trees yet though.

Looks like my sign has shifted to the side (well fixed now)

Need to start planning a few things now - like where the bus stoops going and where do I need traffic lights ..... hmmmmmm
