transparency map and shadows

Hi

I've mapped a transparency map of eye lash on a polygon,
it looks okey, but the shadow still have the poly's edges.
The polygon is part of the object.
I used ray trace shadows on both light and render globals,
but still get the problem.specular on 0.
how can I creat an acurate shadow of transparency map?
Is there a way to turn of shadow casting per face on an object?
or maybe per material???
thanks
