wierd deform when rotating.

Problem.

When im rotating objects they deform as they rotate. Why is maya doing this all i want to do is rotate the object not deform it, how can i get around this???

I have moved the PIVET POINT could this be something to do with the problem?

also i tried banging my head against a brick wall, i found some money i was looking for but it didn't help with the problem though

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

More details -> could help explain why this is happening.

To construct the scene i simply made a POLYGON SHAPE then used SMOOTH PROXY to create the smooth shapeyou see.

Duplicated the new mesh

then i deleted the origanal mesh

Then moved its PIVET POINT which i think could be the problem

then i simply started rotating the objects again

NOTE: You can see how the shape deforms in the top view which is in the top left hand corner of the screen capture
