Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Question on older tuts

Hey guys, question for you all... lots of little botton changes and things in maya 8.5... Is there any of are older tuts that you would like to see revisted and done in 8.5?

Or start some new ones on a up to day maya interface...

thanks for the info

Well I use Maya 6.5 so no. user added image

But frankly I dont think that there are enough changes to bother making new tutorials from old ones instead of making completely new ones.

I'd like something on render layers. There was some ancient stuff but it's well out of date now.

I havn't gone through many tutorials, but so far doing an old tutorial hasn't been an issue for me. I'm pretty familiar with where the main tools are. As long as I know the name of a tool, then I can quickly and easily find it by doing a search in the Help (F1) files.

Keep in mind that I've only done free tutorials so I can't speak for anything advanced but even still, I don't think it would be an issue for me.

instead of updating an old tutorial to be compatible with maya 8.5 why doesnt someone go through and visually show the changes between the maya versions with maybe maya 4-5-6-7-8? Seems more practical to show whats changed overall than whats changed for a specific job.
