Mar/Apr - Norm - mhcannon

Switching myself from noob to norm, since there is no abnormal category.

Concept is a mining bot, that can replace human miners in that dangerous occupation. Still working on concepts, but I'll post them as I get them done.

Mods, please kill my noob thread, thanks.

Ok SurferMCD, Caligraphics, Lonepig, Vladimir, M, and whoever else jumps in, mays the best norm win! We who about to model, salute you!

Lets have some fun. user added image

started the neck piece... forgot to bring the head part home, so the one pictured here is just a place holder.

annoying bug or undocumented feature?

Was playing with shaders on the neck portion and discovered that in the areas where I used the bevel tool the faces won't display the color and in textured view these faces are transparent. I've worked around this by deleting the faces and using append to polygon to recreate them. I checked the normals (face and vertex) and both appear correct so I'm stumped as to why this occurs. Also turned on border edges to see if the edges were flipped, which they arent'. Haven't found anything in the help yet that explains this. It's a minor road bump, and as stated I've found away around it, but I'd still like to know what causes this. Anyone have any clues?

Basic color test. plan to paint a texture in photo shop, but this shows the basic color scheme. As an industrial use bot, I figured the construction equipment yellow would be appropriate. again, the is just a color scheme check final textures will look much more worn, weathered, used, and abused.
