auto center shape. PLEASE HELP ME IM A NOOB!

hey guys i have a problem. you know how when you click on the objects in the polygon menu it tells you to drag it onto the grid? how do i make it appear in the center of the grid when clicking those shapes? i know it can be done cuz i did it on the school computers and i have the same version (2008).

please help.

Go into the create menu, down to polygon primitives and at the bottom of the drop down menu is "interactive creation"

Uncheck that!
