Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Wow wish I worked on games.. would be fun. Anyways. This is looking fantastic. Nice to have some one else working along the rough lines that I am also. Get to really compare the work.

Great proportion on the uumm ahem chest area. The belly button is so cute and robotic. I am totaly love the coller bones being on the outside of the pannels. Thats way cool and inspirational.

The cords coming off the head are neet. Maybe we can have a talk about how to make them the eaziest becouse I will have some but in different location.

Just plain jealous of the little hole just below the two collor bones though. Love that for some reason. Do you mind if I adopt that idea in my model ?

Looking great

The corridor is a great idea I think.

But the texture (?) isn't that fascinating. user added image

Pony, thx for all the kind words! I have no problem you adopting some parts of the design for your model. The "hair" I just did by doing a circle and copying it 4 times rotating and scaling it right and then I did a loft between them... I'm sure there is a smarter way of doing it by I'm new to Maya and this is my second model...

Undseth, are you talking about the corridor or the girl?

Your pritty new like me. Well the "hair" , LOL I was thinking about doing it buy making a really ling tube. But now I see it would have bean truble. Trying to get it to bend right. So the circle and lofting sounds the best so fare to me also.

Thanks for the use. I'll put the change on the chest some time soon. will let you know so you can have a look.

Wow, another first post... I'm really feeling honored user added image

I could put the tutorial part as a real tutorial later on but I think that you could follow it pretty much as it is right now... You just need to know the basics of maya like extrude edge, split polygon and append polygon tools...

Maybe the hair could be "neonish" fiber-optic cable with bright tips?
