Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

How do I????

Okay, you have a newborn babe in computers here. I really want to learn animation. The bouncing ball tutorial looks easy enough. Yeah right!

I found how to make the ball, but can't make the stairs! I know, I'm really dumb. I thought I could make a cube and adjust it into a rectangle for the stairs? If so, how? I found how to move it anyway I want which is cool! But can't make the dumb stairs.

Is there a tutorial for the basic stuff like that?

Please help,
Thanks

to make stairs, take the cube you've got, then use the scale tool (press r for the hotkey) to elongate it... drag on the colored cube of your choice (away from the cube) and it'll get longer... then hit ctrl+d to duplicate the cube... move the cube so it's on top of the other (since you know how to do that), and do that til you've got your stairs!

Oh, THANK-YOU!! I'm not use to programs that use key commands yet. I guess I'll learn them, but I'll have to write them down until I get them memorized.

Again, Thank-You very much.

Another way to do it, and keep it in one piece user added image

Indeed scale it until you got the desired width... then extrude the face in the rear until you have 2 bars of about the same size, then extrude the upper face of the second bar... repeat as needed...

Probarly not needed for this tutorial, but this way ensures the stairs are 100% connected to eachother
