Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Dude its not wrong

Its actually taken from a piece of carbon fibre...:bandit:

I think you are getting your Fibre Glass confused with your Carbon Fibre.

Ive worked with both in past jobs...

No worries,

I'm definately not getting the two confused as I know that parts of my cycle are not made from fibre glass!!

It appears that there are many varieties of carbon fibre, D'oh! The example on the left is what I was referring to, yours is on the right.

I stand corrected.

take it easy,

Mat.

Hey Mat

You do bicycle racing? Or just have a neat bike.

I did bicycle racing for 12 years. I rememberwhen peugeot released on of the first bike made of Carbon. It was called Carbone De Fibre!

Nice bike but i creaked alot because of the glues it was used to stick together with the alloy lugs!!

Some useless info there for you LOL

anyway back to it

LAter

Nah,

I never raced. I just have a neat bike!! I put it together when I worked in a cycle shop (you can't beat trade pricing!!). I needed a decent bike to see me through the 25 mile round trip to work 6 days a week.

Yeah, there were a few crazy ideas with carbon fibres and composites when they were first being used. I rekon they know what they're doing now.

I'll let you get back to your texturing now.

Cheers,

Mat.

PBman

thanks.

No I dont use pelt mapping, I feel it just doesnt utilise the 1:1 texture space enough with the distortion it gives you.

I prefer the manual slog...

Update...

I decided the skirt should have an emblem, a sign that would represent her and others on her 'side'

I used a few designs mish mashed together of celtic, surf and biker tattoo designs to come up with this..

Cheers

Looking really cool Jay, love the skirt.

I got a carbon fibre splinter in my finger from one job I had when part of a machine broke that I was reparing, bloody hurt like hell.

Hahahaha!!!!

Completley useless information there!

nice work jay - this is really coming along.

I am just not sure about the symbol or it's placement. It just seems like a bit of an odd place. Any chance we can see the symbol on it's own?

How odd is just below the arse?

I dont want it right at the base as I have some thoughts on having it blow around and would like it to be seen.

If you could be more specific in your comments I may get a better picture mentally at what you mean. If you have PS cut the image and have a bash yaselves and post it back, I dont mind.

It wouldnt stop me if I thought something wasnt right on somebody elses work...

Cheers guys

thanks Jay - nice design - I guess my computer at work was a little dark. sorry. Taking a second look, the placement doesn't look too bad - my main concern was just, as you said, it might be difficult to see if the skirt is flapping about. I might make it a little smaller and maybe a little higher. I guess also, it would be nice to see you trying it out on other areas of the body (At the top of her arms?), though again, as you said, nothing wrong with stuff just below an arse.user added image
