This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Very Simple Background Question

I feel stupid. I just want to create a simple environment from a panorama file texture I have. I created a sphere, mapped the texture to the sphere, turned off casts and receives shadows. It looks great in the view port, but when I render, the sphere blocks out my Physical Sun and Sky, eliminating my diffuse light from the Sky, and the texture doesn't self illuminate. This seems like such an easy thing to do...help.

I just want the textured environment sphere to appear as the background, without having to use lights to illuminate it, and for it not to interfere with any of the other lighting in the scene. Thanks!!
