Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

I think I'm going to do an abandoned Wheelchair.

Begin Back Rims

Started the Back Rims.

Joopson: I have a few ideas to make the wheelchair tell a story but haven't made a decision yet. I originally was going to do an old abandoned windmill and have a second brand new modern windmill hugely towering over it. But then I figured a windmill isn't really an everyday item...darn.

arran: A hospital scene would be cool but we're not supposed to do a scene. Perhaps after the comp, i'll make a quick scene for it.

Thanks mtmckinley. Perhaps after the comp is over, you can post your wheelchair. Although, this one would be WAY TOO MANY polys for a game.

nice job perfecto - this is looking great. are you planning on having it slightly collapsed in on itself / falling apart - like you often see? just an idea.

I plan on modeling it as if it were new (in case I want to use it for a scene one day). Then I'll add wear and tear to it to make it look abandoned. I haven't decided on what kind of seat I want to model yet as it will depend on the type of wear I want.

I have several reference pics of abandoned wheelchairs so it will be just a matter of how I want the final render to look.
