This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

My first character model

What do you guys think of this?

it's my first attempt at doing a character

I think you should learn to use the 'image size' windowuser added image

At a guess I think he is refering to the unnessecary size of your screen grab.

making up for other areas perhaps?

Good start! You might want to consider starting off with less geometry and then adding as you need it.

yeah I always seam to make loads of work for myself by starting with loads of polys

character model

I could do with some advice about how to clean up the area around the arm pits!
I cant seam to smooth them out

any help would be greatfull

Please keep your posts within one thread per subject.

Think about how the chest muscle blends up into the shoulder and bicep... you'll want to model it similarly.
