This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

sharks down under

started a new work, i have a project coming up soon with bionic dolphins and sharks; Satan the Dolphin, (he attacks Japanese whaling boats apparently) anyway, i have learned a bit about alpha channels thanks to the help i got from many people doing the compass. her is a start.

thats not the start, its finished..?! Just kidding.

It is going to be a bionic shark but i want realistic one first to work with. so heres a couple of updates, got lost around thee mouth, tired and had to see father in hospital, anyway here re some..

the hardest part for me so far is the mouth. so many dots to play with (vertices)

enough of the chit chat, down to work. this took hours and i bet you cant see a difference, its all in the subtlety. user added imageI tried to do the giles nearly had a couple done and POW, the iisoarm is in the wrong place and i gotta get up in the morning and blah blah...

can anyone suggest whether i should move the seam to under the body.., Mike are you out there, anybody.., i know how to do it i just wondered if it was nessassary. I have already rotated it in X.
