renderning AVI in mental ray

1 = how do i render a movie file (avi)using mental ray?


next question is how do i use lens flares and halos in mental ray

(Optical FX node does not render on mental ray user added image )?

i wouldn't recommend rendering out to AVI in Maya, you would be better off rendering an image sequence and then taking that into another app like After Effects and rendering it out to AVI from there, also it would be better to do the lens flair ect in post too.

rendering anything straight to avi espc mental ray stuff is crazy


Now at SMU doing BSc 3D Computer Animation so its hard to get on here

Render them out using a software render (just the light effects) and then comp them together.
