Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Spach Alspaugh House Modeling tutorial

Hi,
Would like to ask when would be the best time to UV- still working on patio beams and I have 10. I did UV for 1st and duplicated the rest 9 beams. What would be the best workflow- to leave the UV after everything is modeled and transfer attributes to the same parts or to UV 1st modeled object and to duplicate already with UVs.
Really wonderful tutorial by the way user added image .
Thanks

Most people leave UV mapping until the model is complete simply because you might well change your objects before the modeling phase is complete. You can always UV one and duplicate and replace the others after completion if you are not comfortable with transfer attributes.
There is no right answer and if you are certain that object is final you could UV it but be aware of the risk of wasted time if indeed it does get changed for whatever reason.
