What is the best Method for modeling Clothing?

Hi guys, I'm not sure how to go about making clothing...
do I duplicate and extract from my existing model to make a shirt and pants.?!?? What is the best way...
Doesn't matter if it is more difficult...
what will give me the best results?

and when it is finished, do I do a poly combine to make it
deform when I rig my char?

clothing are seperae meshes.

just model them just like you would model anything else.

you will have to rig it seperately for more controls and also deformation issues.
