Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

i agree, a lot of talent this is awesome and that render look the material...just great, i`ve worked arround with GIJOE(i use ti on my mountain bike) and i just can`t get that kind of look, i love your toon`s materialuser added image

Luistlf - It's actually a combination of GIJoe, 3 point lighting, and shaders. Earlier in this post, I attached my skin shader... it's on the first page, I think. Check it out if you'd like. It's not all that complicated. user added image

The rest of the shaders are made pretty much the same way, except without the specular and of course, different colors.

hey mike, nice character! and u managed to build a set in a day?? wow!
with things like ur clothing and those kitchen gloves, do you model the body, then model a piece of clothing to fit over the top of the flesh? or do you just leave the out the body and just model the piece of clothing as if it was on the body?
