batch rendering

OK, is there a way to batch render a mental ray render? Whenever I choose to batch render from the mental ray pull-down, it wants me to load a scene, or save the render as a scene, and not an image. Do you set up the scene, close it, and then load it into the batch renderer from an empty scene?

confused?????????????????????????????????????????

That is correct. It saves the scene and places it in the renderscenes folder of your project and then starts rendering the scene with mayatomr at that point you can close the maya program if you want and follow the rendering from the console program (depends on op sys. on Mac is Console.app in Utilities folder)

Got It?

Thanks, I have been waiting for a reply to this. So I will save the scene, and then load that scene in the batch - got it!
