This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

help me!

Hi everyone!

I'm new here. I just downloaded some models and tried to open with my Maya 4.5. But I got the error information like this: "Maya binary file parse error:: (6) corrupted file structure". Can anybody tell me what happened and how to solve this problem? Thank you so much!!

Well, if it's a maya file (.ma or .mb), and it was built in maya 5 or 6, it's not going to open in 4.5...not without alot of fanagling to the file code, anyway. If it's another format, like .obj, you have to import it rather than open it directly.

thank you!

It's .mb file. So I guess the file is compiled in maya 5 or 6, so can't be opened in 4.5. I'm trying to download personal learing edition 5. Hope this will help.

Just wonder that, nobody uses Maga 4.5 now?user added image

As far as I know ple uses a proprietary file format so you're going to be out of luck trying to use that open the files as well. Your best bet would probably to find someone with a current version of Maya to open the model and export it as an .obj file. I'd do it for you but I'm at work and don't have maya here.

Because if you read the rules if you do use pirated software admitting you use it could get you band, so i was just warning limbo no offence ment and i'm not saying he/she does use it, but that post sounds like it. Probably just a bad choice of words.

HI everybody!

I download the FREE, LEGAL version from alias. It's personal learning version, so don't worry about it.

Besides, I changed my post.
