thanks for the extra reference pics Pyrus, they will definately help - the first has a very pronounced forehead which is handy to see.
Well spotted on the brow and area behind too. I was going to mess about with the shape when I finalised the eyes but you encouraged me to go back for a quick tweak. Here's an upper view with new edgeloops and slightly changed brow. I'll make it more visible and defined once the mouth is complete user added image

MattTheMan - well we are easy food for them user added image (as long as we dont have a gun!)

No, by that I meant that he still looks like he's smiling, but he's got those fangs bared and he seems sooo likely to tear your head of.

I really like it. I think it is ready for fur. Tweaking the length of the fur will end up defining the shape of the head in the end...and the model looks pretty damn accurate to me.

Not too much on updates at the minute. There has been some work on the mouth shape (hopefully he aint smiling anymore user added image ) and a little bit around the eyebrow area.
I'm just uv'ing the teeth and inner mouth area and here's a grab with the lower mouth area visible.

I'm struggling with cylindrical mapping though, it just never really gives what I need. Planar is more time consuming but at least I can get a general fit on some areas without too much stretching.

Is it worth trying out some of the pelt map plugins going around?

I had a go with the pelting tools plugin last night on a couple of simple objects.

One note, if you're watching the first movie about the basics then its not clear what to do after you pelt it.
The cursor goes off screen and ups the animation bar frames to 2000. Then the animation is run and you see the pelt stretching out. If it is on the default 58 frames then it doesn't fully stretch out. Just a tip if its not clear.
