Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Preparing for a 3D print

Hello there!

I would like to have a 3D print printed of my character but I don’t know how to delete the rig and keep ONLY the mesh so that the pose stays the way I have put it. When I try to delete the rig now the character jumps back into the t- pose and that is naturally not Okay in this situation.

I am really very new to Maya and this is all quite difficult.. I would truly appreciate any tips on this.

Thank you SO much already!

Johanna :-) 

Hi Johanna, select all your geometry, then go to Edit>Delete By Type>History. Now when you delete your rig, the mesh will remain in the same location. Remember to create a backup before doing this, as it is irreversible.
