Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

2D Motion Blur - Strange Lines

Well, it's been a while since I asked something here user added image Anyway now I could use some help. I'm rendering my scene with Maya Software and 2D motion blur. On random frames of my sequence these strange lines appear

They don't appear without the motion blur. Does anyone know a solution to this? I really would like to stay away from 3D motion blur since the render times would skyrocket...

Mike: No, the lines are pretty much random.

Pure: sorry, can't post the scene (work stuff). The scene is pretty simple though. There's a moving runway and a shaky camera. All geometry is polys. The runway is split into rows. When a row moves to the end, it jumps back to start. First I though the jumping was the problem but I'm not sure about that either as I animated the visibility to 0 during the jump.

I think I solved this. Looks like it was the jumping after all. I just hid the rows one frame earlier and the lines were gone on my test frame. Still have to render out the whole sequence to be sure...
