Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

rendering challenge

anyone interested in doing a texture, lighting and rendering challenge using a pre-made model? (maybe something free from turbosquid)

perhaps take out the texture part and just have procedural stuff?

That would make it lighter and I wouldn't have a problem with that. I would like to hear what others think.
