Comets or Meteors

how do i create meteors and comets to my new project. i tried it with the emitters and the particles but not ok. and particles need hardware rendering.

dynamics menu set -> fluid effects -> fluid examples, a visor will show up. then goto space then drag and drop the meteors into your scene and see how it works... (you have to render it)

or create a meteor object.. or a couple of them.

create a particle emitter

use the particle instancer (correct me if I am wrong) to attach the meteor objects to the particles (replacing the particles with meteors) ... Viola'

You might have to do a few expressions to rotate the meteors or to attach multiple meteor objects and stuff.. but you should be able to do it this way..

Gonna go try that myself to see if it actually works ...

later and good luck.

Good answer caligraphics!

Also, with this Particle-Instancer-Replacement method, you can also Software Render your scene as welluser added image

Good luck!

Don't forget to check out my video tutorials on Dynamic Explosions, as I cover Particle Instancing, as well as a Ridid Body technique as welluser added image
