OK, well... I'm Jurien (pronounced "JOO-ree-en"). Apparently it's a Dutch name but I am absolutely not Dutch. I think it's the Dutch equivalent of George which means farmer. Anyway, I was named after a town on the west coast of Australia which was named after a French guy who somehow had Jurien as his last name (I think Charles was his first name).

I like the fact that it's a unique name. In fact I've only met 1 other person with that name (a Dutch South African) and he pronounces it "Urie". My name can be annoying though, when I have to reapeat it like 3 or 4 times each time I meet someone. I've been called Jurian (even my own relatives have spelled it this way!), Durian, Durien, Jamen (now that's a COOL name!), Julian, Julien, Urien, Urine (that can be annoying!!), Drew, Ian, Jewelry, Jacob and several others.

Great Spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. The mediocre mind is incapable of understanding the person who refuses to bow blindly to conventional prejudices and chooses instead to express their opinions courageously and honestly.
*Albert Einstein*

One ought never to turn one's back on a threatened danger and try to run away from it. If you do that, you will double the danger. But if you meet it promptly and without flinching, you will reduce the danger by half.
Sir Winston Churchill

Be courteous to all, but intimate with few, and let those few be well tried before you give them your confidence. True friendship is a plant of slow growth, and must undergo and withstand the shocks of adversity before it is entitled to the appellation.

Jesse Starr... And everyone I meet seems to think it's funny to say 'pornstar' after I tell them what my name is... everyone. It's not though. Add to that the fact that most girl names, when put in front of the word Starr, sound like porn names (i.e. April Starr, my current girlfriend). Well anyway, despite that annoyance girls kinda like it though. I have no idea why my last name is what it is but my first name comes from the Bible. Most of you have no idea who I am anyway so you probably don't give a crap user added image j/k.
