This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

Thanks Jay. I'll be doing multiple shots (I just have to ><) but the final shot will probably be wide.

Color correction tests. Don't know exactly where I'm heading with that yet but I'm leaning away from the red.

Wow, very realistic!
To me the last one looks best. Maybe a mix between the first and last.

I think the first one looks more raw and 1970's documentary type Gen...I like it......2nd doesnt do it for me...the 3rd looks the best for realistic colours from a modern camera...1st one is my fave...but agree with some guy if you could mix 1st and 3rd I recon that would be the top pick...well done mate

cheers bullet

Same here, the first one seems too green/blue to me and the last one doesn't seem quite colorful enough. Somewhere in between the two would look great to me.

Thanks for the input guys!user added image

I'll admit I was torn between 1 and 3. The final will be a mash up of both but a little more subtle with the grading.

Its like the choice between the black or red dress really, isn't it user added image you decide and then change your minds another 18 times...

Beautiful scene so nicely done, I really like the composition with the red fabric blowing in the wind, makes it interesting to look at and adds an afterthought.

Thanks Nilla! I'm glad I've gotten to the point where color grading is the issue. This project has been a roller coaster ride.

The water is pretty much a cube with a mia_mat on it. Ocean texture for bump, tweaked the refraction falloff and fresnel reflections. I'll go into details when I get back.

I usually prefer the black dress on a Friday LOL
