Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Theres a 10MB limit on the obj file size (not hte maya scene size)

As far as I can see on the giudelines that Mike posted from the company that will be making (not giving thats from Mikes generous pockets) that you can have sepperate objects but if you want them as one piece then they have to interconnect

they just have to intersect. look at the www.3darttopart.com 's guidelines for all the details.

Uh I just delete a bunch of a needlessly fases and convert everything in to poligons but when I saved it in obj I got file 10.6 mb big. I can add the final part (crack stone) and make it 10 mb but I wanted to add some nice looking relievo on the blade. Hellp

Man you have ALOT of un-needed polys in there. The whole thing needs cutting down.

Major problem areas I see are:,

The horns on top of the head,
the holes/dents in the nose area
The handle coming out the mouth
the rim of the lips.

I would cut them way down. Try getting rid of every other line of virts (unless its a crit line) and see how much of the shape you lose.

I`m betting not alot look at those wire frames.

I hate having to cleaning up models (its so boring) but in your case I think it will be time well spent.

Plz don`t take offence.
Your model looks great but the mesh is alittle heavy.
