Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Assault Mech

Hi!

After long time no modeling in maya i started a new project.

I love the mech tut, i can learn soooo much and it's real fun to model this mech.

I'm on the upper body now, part 6 in the tut.

I hope you like it. Here's a "ao" render from the front and a wireframe so far.

What do you think???

update from the front and the side with mini_guns und some adjustments.

First Picture: Mini_Guns are smaller. I've made them bigger in the side render!

Nice modelling

But that side view really doesnt do it any favours, it would fall over because the center of gravity is way out. Make the feet bulkier to add weight or move them more directly beneath the head.

Cheers

as the previous guys says maybe you should move the cockpit back above the Feet and get the gravity more centered. i like the big guns too!

another idea is to add two legs infront of the cockpit so it becomes a 4 walker

Updates....:attn:

i've made the cockpit a little bit smaller and played around with the legs, to give them some nice details like some cables and knobs.
