Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Glad to see you're entering Some guy, was a shame you didn't get to finish and enter your one for the last challenge.
Good luck with whatever you come up with!

While not as complex and masterfully crafted as my concept i feel this is a positive step in the direction i want to take.

that's cool.

It's funny, the first concept for the Vyrium in the game I referred to in the challenge description, we had them creating ships out of asteroids.

Looking forward to how it turns out for you!

Thanks for the kind words. I'm kinda stuck though with what to do and i cant seem to make an interesting asteroid. Id take what Ive done so far as more of a concept sketch than anything.

you could create some hanger ports and other things like duct work, going in and out of the asteroid. that would give you some good options for both detail and texturing.

yeah we went with something else for similar reasons... having a whole fleet of asteroid-ships. None of the designs really clicked that we came up with.

It's looking cool so far Some Guy, I was thinking of an idea you could consider, you could make it so they've hollowed out the inside of the asteroid (maybe not actually model the interior tho...) and have tube like connections going into the middle. That way you could kind of "chisel" the asteroid away here and there and make some crazy pipe system around it.

Just an idea, hope it at least gives you a bit of inspiration!
Good luck with whatever you decide mate!

Doing some shading stuff and lighting. The tower is a placeholder. I want to give everything a more industrial feel.
