Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

I was told once for a splash effects use a curve on surface for an emitter ... if you think of it, it makes sense

Can you post some of your settings or even shaders, maybe even an exported pdc file [ particle object ] user added image

3d splash for Maya

I came across a new plugin for Maya called oceansplash. The plugin builds splash engines for the objects that need splashes. These engines generate interesting splash effects, may be not as perfect as realflow but this one is dynamic i.e. the splash changes instantly if the animation changes. Moreover this plugin is absolutely free and has very user friendly interfaces. Creating/Editing splashes are made very easy and it has many other features as well. Check the following site:
