Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

@TravisCoswill Thanks for the kinds words! With you being the only one that has responded to my work re-affirms my decision not to post any new stuff here.

If you really want to get into photo realistic portrait art, I recommend getting some books on human anatomy first. Then after that start collecting as much info as you can about artist that still do or have done ( in the past ) photo realistic portrait art. Drew Struzan is great start. I have most of his books. Richard Amsel is another great artist to study after. Boris Vallejo is another great. Bob Peak and Sorayama are great ones also. These people where my main inspiration.

I might send you a PM this weekend with pics of my finished recent work if I'm not to busy with other stuff. Cheers dude! [BEER]

Oh no worries dude.

Credit is where credit is due. Art is Art. All forms. we both have 2d backgrounds so I'm savvy.

Thanks for the leads on the books. I'll seriously look into it. I'm gonna need to really get to know the ins and outs of the anatomy I've only had to really cheat in my career up to now if I'm going to seriously attempt both photo-realistic 2d concepts...but their counterparts in May as well.

Beer indeed. Shout if you can. Look forward whenever you have that time.

I did it for the lulz.

I've decided to try to challenge the Microsoft Office Word 2003 software and use it for a purpose that isn't really its primary role.
So Word + this longfin swordtail female fish of mine, named Eris...

...resulted in this.
Inspired by the goddess of discord Eris, and the dress is designed after my fish's aspect.

Drawn using freehand from autoshapes, except for the circles of the eye irises, their lights, and whatever has circular shapes, which were pre-set auto-shape circles. And the text was done with Word-Art to fit the shape of the apple.
Though I hope I can make that dress in real life... Would probably be an interesting clothing article.

I think it's called vector drawing, but not sure.

At least the description of vector graphics on wikipedia sounds like this, but not sure if it is the same thing that I've done by drawing the shapes.
The hair sure slowed down the saves though... I didn't want just simple cartoon hair, so I had to make more hairs and stick them together. Should have taken a week, but due to having other stuff to do, it took almost a month.

My rather primitive 2D drawing in Inkscape, but with lots of hidden meanings. Which ones do you see in it?

That chair doesn't look like it could move user added image. Other than that I'm really bad at finding meanings in pictures user added image.
