Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Speed Modeling

i want to see if anyone would be interested in a weekly speed modeling session. (i.e. every friday 2-3 hrs long) (not competiotion or battle, just speed modeling session)
topics will be anything, robots, anime character, cartoony characters, human heads, architechture, and other various thems.
i know too many ppl do not post here so this forum would be ideal for weeekly speed modeling session. anything u can come up with will be fine, plus it will be a great tool to aid modeling and learning more about maya's tools.
VOTE!!!:p

there's only 1 battle in the battle forum...
this would be different, people would compete but in a less competitive way and more in a imaginative manner. the goal is to see what people can come up with in 2-3 hrs. Many would gain new skills from this, especially n00bies and other intermidiate users alike...
but only 8 votes so far.... ppl do not browse th maya chat forum often... i should have posted in the members lounge

Is the suggestion to give everybody 2 to 3 hours during (for example) every friday to see what they come up with from a set theme?
Cool idea, I'd be interested (as long as it didnt impact my challenge competition time) user added image

"threads fom the crypt"...

this is a very old thread. i dont think too many would participate. it would be just a waiste.

or instead of starting a new section, i think we can simply put it in the battle forums and named the thread thusly

"Speed modeling- week- 01/21/06 - Antique Phones"

2-3 hrs

everyone would post their work kin the same thread.

just an idea.

we can give it a go starting next week.

even if it where just some of us, I think it would be fun enough. after some weeks maybe others will have taken notice about and number of participants might increase.

I go with your suggestion on the details vlad.

Matt, the phone thing was just as an example.

so we'll give it a go on friday.

this will last from friday-sunday. a winner will be announced sunday evening.

i think on the weekend people has more time on their hands to doodle and practice, so this should fit most schedule for those who are willing to participate.

cheers. user added image
