there are some free stuff around to do this or even trial versions of software. not sure where to get it exactly. If you have nero it may convert for you automatically, not sure. Your best bet is to search for some video editing software.

I use Nero...always have...it works great..I went ahead and bought it because I use it all the time.

https://www.nero.com/en/index.html#root

However...if, at any time, your avi has had it's audio compressed in any way, you will have problems creating your video CD.

Also, do a search for avi2vcd.exe

I think you can find it somewhere. But I would try out Nero and see if it will work for you. I have a Philips brand DVD player and all of my VCDs work in it with no problems.

Hope this helps,
Hidalgo

CODEC = COmpression/DECompression

Yes, they are from different sources: AVI, MPEG, MOV...

DIVX seems to be the way to go when you decide on AVI, but that would be as a final product.

There are tons of ways to convert one to another, but when there is audio involved, the best way is to make sure that the file is uncompressed if you plan on making a VCD. Something about the transition to MPEG. I am no expert but have come across this detail through trial and error.

Also, I apologize in advance but I forgot whether or not the NERO trial edition lets you make VCDs...
