Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Hi there Eagle:

I noted everybody posting images like yours, that got this kind of "milky"or "bone" color/texture, that looks so realistic. Is it the way you render? Or something to do with Mental Ray stuff?

Thanks.

PS.By the way, great sword (call it Saber...) - I love that "glow" effect.

Mário.

I think I won't be done this month. I have to restart with everything because I have smoothed it too much. like 6 times or something. Thats too much. And its just the head.

I will try to finish it.... user added image

Take it easy on yourself mate.
I believe you´ll be able to pull it out.

Try to go for a less complicated approach, don´t smooth till the low poly cage resembles you, and then go for it. Then go back -ctrlZ- and keep on modelling the cage.

You can do it.

yeah man! keep it rolling...

like Ad said..start roughing out the basic large shapes first, then worry about the detail.

save different versions along the way (head01, head02, etc..)
this way you can always go back without starting over.

start cuttin those poly's up my brotha' user added image

thanks for cheering up...
I decided to restart but then I found a file which I saved. The basic shape of the head.

I started at this point again but I didnt get anything good.

Today was a wonderful day. I was sitting outside. Clear weater.
Good temperatures. Then I had the freaking idea to put my laptop and model a bit outside. and....suddenly...I made some updates...and I am happy with them. I am still working on the eyelid and the nose:
