Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Easy way to Stich/weld or attach two objects

Oke, I need to attach the leg on to the torso. What is the quickes way to do this ?

The left part shows the wireframe on shaded mode so you can see that they are borth quiet dense now !

ouch.. I don't think that's going to be too easy to attach... Also, if I'm not mistaken, your bottom opening reaches into the crotch. If you try to attach the two, it'll more than likely pull away, leaving a large gap.

this is one reason by polys might be a preferred method for this sort of thing

My 2 cents

Hmm...I'd suggest some serious detaching and rebuilding on the surfaces before stiching user added image Don't forget to delete the history every once in a while...

one thing you might want to consider is a little "cheat"... instead of attaching the leg, give her a thigh gun holster or some sort of accessory to cover up the seam. user added image I really think that would be the best thing to do if you want to stick with Nurbs.

If you do want to convert, you can do so under the Modify menu. Modify > Convert > different options... make sure you mess with the options of the conversion. You can get very different results depending on the conversion settings.
