Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

I still don't get the camera with the reference pics

I got another one...old one. I shot him with a mini-dv camera which is 720 by 480 size. I imported the pics as 72 by 48 on the poly planes.

Why is it that the pics r still improportionate?

Looks pretty close. If you've got to scale the image to make it work, do so.

if u put the ref pics on nurbs plane u can adjust the control vertex on the planes to match both pics perfectly without distorting ur images too much.
with polys u have to create UV map first, but NURBS plane is easier IMO

Take the pics into PSP or photoshop and adjust them till they line up. That's what I do.

Poly primitives are created with a UV map in place... much like NURBS.

Actually, the other suggestions are better than mine, that's how I'll do it from now on.
