Woman - Dont know where this is going

Well not content with 2 projects at the same time here goes another. A Woman - not sure what I`m going to do with this yet as I just fancied making a human as I have not done it in a long time and I cant sleep (its about 6am at the mo - arrrr)

Got some ref images from a friend and set away making the head - not bad for a first pass - still to do the ears and rest of neck but both are missing from these ref pics.

the eyes are too close together. looking at the front-on picture shows it clearer.

Looks good so far!

The only bit is what neo due to the reference not being perfectly central (which you'll never get to be honest as you probably know) said but thats an easy fix.

Gonna run this through your new freebie????

Well I think I have gottern my wired problem with maya under control - been tweaking this for a hour and no crashing yet but will have to wait and see.

Yep eyes were off but that was because I kept the wrong half of the face - so thats now sorted - moved the ref so its a little more centrel - worked from the left hand side (her right hand side of her face)

Going to go make an ear now (missing from ref - errr).

The plan for this one is now to build her shoulders and pratice some head rigging and lipsyning - but going for as real as I can make her. Going to see if I can get Mudbox to handle her as I did a test with it last night and go up to 10 millon polys on the free head it gives you and it was still going strong.

Any one have a good eye tut as the one from gnoman seems to have gone.

Thx for the kind words so far

Well got the ear and the neck done - still have to do the eyes but think I`m going to do some work on my plate thing for rest of the day.

Here is a test render to see how its looking so far

**Edit **

Looking at it the bottom of the ear needs some work. It also looks alittle far back but its were it is on the ref so I`ll leave it for now if it still bugs me when I`m closer to finnishing her I`l change it.

You should'nt rely on the refs 100% though since there's camera perspective that distort the photo. So if you think the ear is misplaced a bit, move it.

Yer looking at it again within Maya it looks fine - just think its the render.

Does anyone know how to render out the AO as a texture. I mean so it looks like a uv map
(I know how to do a AO render)

I got a video on how to do this in 3dMax (as well as defuses maps and so what) and I have heard people talking about it within maya but never heard how. It makes painting the textures a bit easier in the video I watched (eat3d ones some lovely photo-shop work) and also will not have to render it out each time I want to use it.

Also started work on the inner mouth but nothing to show just yet

Last one for today - added inner mouth (cant see that yet), some eye lashes and upper body.

Thats as far down as I am going with this one but I may add the hands as it helps 2 act when lipsinking.

The breast plate needs some remodlering but on awhole I`m liking it.

Not looking for ward to UV mapping the neck down

** Edit - whoops forgot she had no cloths on - covered up now **
