Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

3D MODELS

Is there a place to download 3D models that you can play with in Maya? Something that I can import and mutate. I'm finding it pretty hard to start from scratch and have fun at the same time. Would they have a particular extention associated with them?

ps. don't want to try to rip someone off. just want to have a little fun.

There was a great cowboy model available on alias wavefronts site. He was rigged and textured so u could just start animating. Also do a search for IK Joe. It's a max character but someone made a maya equivelant that you can just play around with. Good rig on that one.
