Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world

Filling a hole with cylinder

Hello, I want to fill this hole with a cylinder that goes through it and keeps on going up if you know what I mean but I am having a trouble filling it with the cylinder itself so it fits perfectly.. here's the picture

I acually solved it by remaking the whole but before making the hole i made a copy of the cylinder and then when the hole was made i just moved it it and ofc it fits perfectly.. now my problem is that i got 7 corners in 1 of the faces

i've marked the 7 vertexes, will this be a problem later on or is it alright? can i change it somehow?

You need to clean your goe should look like this or better, The main cylinder had 12 sections the one I used to do the boolean had 8 witch fitted nice then I add some edge loops and cut poly, I did have to do a merge verts at the end ................dave

Haha thanks, with a little tweaking and really understanding what I was doing i managed to work it out and it turned out to be almost as yours user added image thanks alot dude! really helpful

The smaller the hole the more geo you need on the main pipe.................dave
