texturing problem

when i load an image for texturing a cube it stretches the image in the uv texture editor. where is the option to turn that off.

In the UV editor, use the Image>Use Image Ratio

What exactly are you looking for? if you want the image to be mapped to each face of the cube, you'll have to lay out the UVs as such in the editor.

ya just map each face and u should be good...then just move each set of UV on each of the die pictures for your texture.

Didnt they explain that in that tutorial...its been a long time since ive seen that.

what kind of material are you using? Layered shaders don't appear correctly, for example.

im using blinn. go to digital-tutors.com and check out the tutorial under maya-rendering then go to the second page and its the uv basics. with the picture of the dice.
