Creating transparency map in Maya 2016 problem

I've recently moved up to Maya 2016 from Maya 2013 and I'm still trying to adjust to some changes.
Currently I'm working on a model where I need to apply a transparency map and I'm having a difficult time with the new shaders.

The model is of a watch and I simply want to apply the numbers/details etc. over the edge of the watch face. The face is a chrome shader and I want to apply the texture map over top of it. The old method is not working and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong with the new version.

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Thank you.
