Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Medival Ages - chan_345

This will be my first comp, and since this is medival stuff, i decided to model some weapons from that era. the first is gonna be a sword.

If it can't be fixed with duct tape and a hammer, it isn't worth being fixed... Unless it's my computer.

Here's a pic of the finished model. If your wondering about the times in between posts, they're so short because i went on a modeling frenzy and forgot to take pics of the progress.user added image

Here's the list of weapons i'm gonna model. If ya'll wanna see any other weapons lemme know.
1.Sword
2.Mace
3.Battleaxe
4.Sheild

But first i gotta put some detail on the sword, such as, textures/shaders, and color.

good work chan and nice drawing descriptions to give us more to look forward to. Are you going to include a character?

Possibly, but it wouldn't be a good looking char. I'm still working on my basic modeling skillz. I can't even get the nurbs head in the tuts that come with maya to look like a face. But i will consider it
