2d images

i have a question, is it possible to make a 2d image in maya, and then rig it and texture it so it appears 2d but its animated with maya? i think it is possible but im just checking.

Suppose you could use the vectore render, if your going for a cartoon 2d look?

Its 100% possible in Maya, Futurama and other 2D cartoons ahve used 3D software within the cartoons, to give the 3D effect to the 2D environment, the opposite is possible but it would need to be, as gster said, done in Vector render.

as ransid said u can do it
to add to that list is south park which is quite flat if ur after that
shadows an stufflike that will be a pain but its a stylised thing

may be a bit awarked to get a look at first but nce u got it it should be fine


Now at SMU doing BSc 3D Computer Animation so its hard to get on here
