you don't have to invert it in photoshop, you can invert it in maya directly under the texture settings for the material

ok and im new to texturing so if im doing a bump, what color should the thing i want to bump be(blk or white) and what color should everything that im not bumping be

sorry for all the post. SM was acting funny. it says im logged in under 99gsturbo and my downloads were under 99gsturbo but my control panel said ericmattisin81 as well as my post. I had to reset my cookies to get this name to work

Use a medium gray (127,127,127) as base color. Everything lighter will bump out, and everything darker will bump in.

Ok ive been working on the tires. Im doing the tread right now but im trying to do the tube part of the tire. im trying to get the right size so should it be smaller or larger. remember, these rims will either be 18" or 19" depending of which car gets chosen.

Rotors were not made by me. Found on a forum and I must say they are one of the best set of rotors ive ever seen. The only prob is they are at 800,000 polys lol but my computer can handle it

thats a easy questoin. smcars.net has such a LARGE resource of blueprints. cick search and type in the car your looking for and you will get so many. Theres also WIPs when u search it that way but sometimes i like to go through everything anyways to see others wireframes

lol the evo is tempting but the eclipse is for the fact not many ppl model that version of the eclipse and i got all the reference i need. I might end up doing all the cars and just do them in order of the polls im not sure yet but the polls are up for another week so well see how things turn out

switching to XSI so this next update might take a while cause i gotta learn the tools and shortcuts. i see a tie between the 350 and the eclipse. hahah 5 days left i cant wait to see what imma have to model

Im going to finish it in XSI. I want to force myself to learn it so im just going to stick through this project in XSI till the end without going to Maya. i finished the tread in XSI with help of shad

Ok I finished the tire and tread. The only thing left is to make the sidewall. Im going to model them since I want to push XSI to its limits. Everyone talks about how well it handles heavy meshes and I must say, its doing a great job. Maya keeps on crashing on me when smoothing my tire since I have 3 mil polys unsmoothes on the tire lol but XSI, i was able to do a level 3 smooth and it moves in the view port pretty well so i might as well model instead of textures. anyways last update on the tire should be Thursday.
