Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Maya Kid

I'm only 11 and a mini maya master. I've hidden my talent and only told about 5 people and that includes my parents. Does anyone know a way to tell my friends or get somewhere with my tallent OR even if there is a little kid hiding in the simply maya forums.user added image

sweet model

you don't type like an 11 year old :p

it sucks when you're the only one who knows how to do stuff, especially at that age, but you could make yourself a webpage, throw stuff up there, and then you can show people that way

that's a "Ch" pronounced as a "K"

Computer skills I should have:
Objective C, C#, Java, MEL. Python, C++, XML, JavaScript, XSLT, HTML, SQL, CSS, FXScript, Clips, SOAR, ActionScript, OpenGL, DirectX
Maya, XSI, Photoshop, AfterEffects, Motion, Illustrator, Flash, Swift3D

Hmm, very Impressive!
I started when I was... I think 13,
Those were the days!
now I am 17, so no help here user added image

So anyway,
Just come to these forums often and you will get better and better, and that is how you further your talent. Friends usual don't understand the appeal of 3D art, or they expect professional looking work right away.
So really, just keep at it, you are WAY ahead of the game!

WOW

You guys started so young I'm 25 and have only been playing around with maya for like 5 1/2 months now. I still feel like a little kid too !!! And dont worry about that whole nerd thing dude its like Bill Gates said " Be nice to nerds someday you will be working for one" You should be stocked that you have found an interest in something of value at such a yound age. There are a lot of people out there who are twenty thirty or even older who dont have a lot if interest in anything. Be grateful, learn and as Jay said show of your work!!
